What is NDA Exam?
National Defence Academy or NDA exam is conducted twice a year by Union Public Service Commission for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). It is the most sought-after defense entrance exam in the country where both male and female candidates can apply.
The exam is conducted in two stages: written exam and SSB Interview. In 2020, a total of 5.3 lakh candidates had applied for the exam, out of which 2.4 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. UPSC prepares a list of candidates who obtain minimum qualifying marks in the written exam. Such candidates are called for SSB Interview for Intelligence and Personality Test.

What is the difference between UPSC NDA 1 and NDA 2?
There is no difference between UPSC NDA 1 and 2 exams. NDA 1 exam is conducted for admission to the January batch. On the other hand, NDA 2 exam is conducted for admission to the July batch.

NDA 2022 Application Form
Application Form
NDA (II) 2022 Application Form can be filled till 7th June 2022. National Defence Academy (NDA) is a National Level Test organized by Union Public service Commission (UPSE) to recruit candidates for Indian armed forces. The exam will be conducted twice a year and qualified candidates will get admission to Indian Military, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force. In this article we have provided detailed information about NDA 2022 Application form and eligibility criteria and steps for filling online application form etc.
- Applicant can apply for NDA online mode on the website.
- For the 1st session, NDA 2022 application form has been released on 22nd December 2021 and the last date for submission was till 11th January 2022.
- For the 2nd session, the application form has been released on 18th May 2022 and the last date will be till 7th June 2022.
- Candidates must fill the application form very carefully as no correction facility will be provided later.
- Candidates must submit the application form before the last date of submission. Once the last date will be passed application form portal will get closed.
- Application form is available in two parts.
- In Part -1, candidates must fill in personal information and educational information.
- In part-2 of application form, candidates will have to upload photograph, signature, payment, etc.
- Candidates can withdraw their application from 14th to 20th June 2022 for the second session.

UPSC has announced NDA (1) & (2) 2022 exam dates. The written exam of NDA (1) was conducted on April 10, 2022. While NDA (2) 2022 exam will be conducted on September 4, 2022. Candidates can check below the complete schedule of the exam

NDA Syllabus 2022
NDA syllabus
NDA syllabus comprises topics from Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT). The level of the syllabus is of Classes 10, 11, and 12 standards. Candidates can check below the topics included in the syllabus:
Mathematics: Algebra, Calculus, Matrices and Determinants, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations, Trigonometry, Vector Algebra, Analytical Geometry Of Two and Three Dimension and Statistics and Probability.
GAT: The GAT syllabus of NDA is divided into two parts. Part A comprises questions from English, while Part B carries questions from General Knowledge. Questions in the English part are asked about Grammar and Usage, Vocabulary, Comprehension, and Cohesion. Questions in General Knowledge are asked from Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies, General Science, Geography, and Current Events.
NEET Exam Pattern 2022
The written exam of NDA comprises two papers: Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT). The written test carries a total of 900 marks. Candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam are called for SSB Interview. The SSB interview carries 900 marks.

NDA Preparation Tips 2022
Candidates can prepare for the NDA exam by following the tips given below:
- To begin with, candidates must be clear about the subjects, patterns, and types of questions
- The Mathematics section of NDA comprises questions from Algebra, Matrices, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, etc. Candidates must clear their concepts from Classes 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 NCERT books
- The GAT comprises a variety of subjects, such as Chemistry, General Science, Geography, History, and Current Affairs. This paper also comprises a section on English
- Candidates must revise the topics they have studied
- Make short and simple notes as it will help candidates to revise properly and quickly
- Solve previous years' NDA question papers and take NDA mock tests

NDA 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates need to fulfil the following NDA eligibility criteria in order to be eligible for the exam:
NDA Age Limit
For NDA 1 exam, both male and female candidates must have been born not earlier than July 2, 2003, and not later than July 1, 2006. For NDA 2 exam, both male and female candidates must have been born not earlier than January 2, 2004, and not later than January 1, 2007.
NDA Eligibility: Sex and Marital Status
Only unmarried male and female candidates can apply for the exam.
Are Girls Allowed in NDA?
In 2021, the Supreme Court passed its decision that girls can join National Defence Academy. The first batch of women candidates appeared in NDA 2 exam last year.
